The Charity Mile 2016 is one of the bigger horse race events of the season and is the build up to the Summer Cup.
And big it was, big on fashion, celebrities, food, drinks..
16 celebrities paired with 16 horses, 16 charities and 16 media houses. Who doesn’t like fun for a good cause right?
The event was held at Turffontein Racecourse and everyone was dressed to the nines.
Summer dresses- long, short, flowy seemed to be the consistent theme among the ladies and the gents went for more pastel themed colors for the blazers and/or pants.
My guests and I as well as my fellow influencers were hosted at the Triple B festival marquee filled with bright colors and plants, which made it all the more summery and whimsical. Bubbly, craft beers and delicious tasty treats were the order of the day as well as a live band there to entertain guests.
The theme was ‘Glammed Up’ and I decided to go for a more laid back yet glamorous look with a flowy summer dress with cut out shoulders and gold accessories. I like my maxi’s to flow and don’t like them lifted off the ground hence I opted to wear flats.
I would’ve loved to wear a hat and go full race themed but I couldn’t really find one I liked to go with this dress so I just added a small accessory to my hair, the cutest little starry pin and I think I liked this more than a hat. There’s nothing like subtle detailing to pull together an outfit.
Dress – YDE | Belt – H&M | Starry hair accessory – Zara
Oh also, I’m getting slightly better at betting Hahaa. Pro tip: looking into the horses eyes doesn’t work!! I made only one bet and it was a winner so that was really fun for me.
I must say I genuinely had a great time at the Charity Mile and am looking forward to the next one.
See you all at the Sansui Summer Cup 😉
