Sorry I’m a little late with last month’s edition on On The Agenda. So let’s not waste any more time and get straight into it. As always I want to remind you that these views are all my own, nothing on here is sponsored so you’re definitely getting my honest opinion.
“#MatteBounce is a no-colour powder that is going to blur your pores, set your makeup, remove unwanted shine & ensure that your looks stays put all day! – all without leaving that chalky powdery look”.
I got my hands on this powder a few weeks back and I love it. I will say though as a woman of colour I feel like there really is no such thing as a ‘no-colour’/translucent/one color fits all powder. So if you are expecting this product to magically match your skin tone then you will be disappointed. It definitely does an amazing job at setting my makeup and keeping my face matte (I have super oily skin). When I use it, I apply a little bronzer on top just to hide the bit of white residue left by the powder, it really isn’t a lot though.
Oh and let’s not forget it’s only R150!
I’m desperately in search of a foundation that matches my skin tone and this one comes very close. I struggle with finding the right color because it’s usually like I’m either not light enough or not dark enough so I end up having to mix shades when I use foundation. I did however come across this foundation stick which had a shade that blends really well with my skin tone. I was a bit hesitant in buying this as I have oily skin and the product has minerals and the other good stuff that makes your skin glow. I definitely don’t need that with my super oily skin but after setting it with my Swiitch Beauty powder this has quickly become one of my favorite foundation.
It offers medium coverage and is great to pop in your handbag and use on the go. I use the shade MSF 09 CARAMEL.
Berets from @urbane_dela_apparel
In case you’ve been living in a cave somewhere and you didn’t know, BERETS ARE IN!
I got my fix from an Instagram store called Urbane Dela Apparel. My sister and I went a little crazy and ordered 10. Literally 10 berets in different colors. They are based in Pretoria.
The berets are such good quality guys and for a very reasonable price. When I ordered them they were R90 each and have since gone up to R120 a pop. This is still cheaper than you would find at any normal retail store and they come in all colours including red, navy, pink, yellow, maroon, brown, black, white, green.. The list goes on and on.
I can’t wait to style these. I only have one question, can you wear berets to work???
