Ringing in the New Year: My Resolutions

Ringing in the New Year: My Resolutions

So it’s been one year in the corporate game. I’ve already shared in my last post the biggest lessons I’ve learnt so far.In this post I wanted to talk resolutions.. I know that’s not the most exciting thing to talk about in January but let’s face it any successful person will tell you it’s important to set goals in life and resolutions to me are like short to medium term goals.

“Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.” — Fitzhugh Dodson

I have quite a few resolutions of my own, both personal and professional so I thought I’d share a few of my less personal/private goals with everyone…

Take Care of Myself More
Cliché I know, but I really eat unhealthy food and shift from sleeping too much to not sleeping enough. I haven’t taken care of my body as well as I should have, but that’s gonna change. This goal was actually set in the beginning of December. I made a bet with some of my colleagues that I could have my body (tummy specifically) Summer ready by mid December and I semi succeeded, lol. After the two weeks was over I didn’t stop. Now I’m eating more healthily, exercising a minimum of twice a week, I even have a strict skin regime now. It’s going well so far and the benefits have been amazing.

I’ll admit I don’t read. I hate that I don’t because I was such an avid reader as a teenager but I’m getting back into it now and with that I’ll be reviewing the books I read on my blog.

 Explore Fashion

This year I vow to break my boundaries ito fashion. While I know how important it is to stay true to your style, I also believe that it’s important to expand your mindset, and that’s what I hope to do.

Give Back

Everyone knows something or has something that someone else doesn’t. I feel like I do my share fair of giving back but I know I could be doing so much more and this year I plan on giving more whether it’s by teaching someone something or giving someone something.

“You can’t hit a home run unless you step up to the plate.

You can’t catch a fish unless you put your line in the water.

You can’t reach your goals if you don’t try.”

— Kathy Seligman

I would love to know what some of your goals are, do share and leave a comment below.

    Hi Pelo

Greetings in the New Year. I just want to say I love your blog. I find that there aren’t really that many corporate-fashion blogs out there, so yours is a highly appreciated.

Please do a blog on wardrobe essentials for each season. I’m relocating to Joburg soon to start work, so the blog would be really helpful

All the best in achieving your goals for 2017

    Keep posting

      Hey Lebo,

Thank you so much for your kind words. Best believe I’m adding that to my content calendar, thanks for the suggestion.
I’m glad you find my blog valuable and I’ll definitely be posting more this year.

Also, good luck with the relocation and your new work journey. I know relocating can be a bit difficult, I have a few friends that had to deal with moving to a new city and starting a new job last year so I definitely wish you all best and hope you kick ass!!!
