One Wrong Thing

I attended Glamour Magazine’s Glam-Up Sessions event the other day. Basically the main part of the event was a panel of speakers talking about their fashion journeys. One of the things that one of the speakers said stuck out to me. So this is someone who I can’t at all relate to because she was all about the layers and taking risks with her outfits. She was literally wearing a tank top, military blazer, fur gilet, leather skirt and statement boots! Definitely NOT up my alley. But when asked what kind of advice she would give on how to mix it up, especially if you’re not particularly a risk taker like her she said, when you get dressed, try to add one ‘wrong‘ thing.

I kinda sat there like hhmm.. that’s interesting. Such a simple way to switch up your outfits right. She was suggesting adding boots to a sexy dress as an example or formal culottes with a parka and well that’s a tad too much for me lol. I’m trying out her advice in subtle ways though. Y’all might probably roll your eyes at my risks but you know, you gotta stay true to you.

About the Look

So on to my look. I absolutely adore this look so classy and sophisticated. A little edgy too. Normally I’d wear this with something more classic like a nude court or edgy like black statement heels to go with the rest of the feel of the outfit but I decided to wear ‘one wrong thing’ and added a pair of boho block heels to it instead.

As I side note I hope I don’t need to mention that you HAVE to have a beige/nude coat! Get a good one too in a classic cut so that it goes with everything and lasts forever.
