Hey everyone, welcome back to the second edition of On The Agenda. Thisis a new series where I talk about all of the things I’m currently loving. All honest reviews on things I’ve actually used and paid my money for. If you missed the first of this series you can catch up on the February Edition here.
Home & Lifestyle
I went to Goliath Comedy Club a few weeks back and I would definitely recommend it for everyone. I hadn’t laughed that hard in a while. They provide a lineup of about 7 comedians. With a different lineup every Friday and Saturday. Definitely a great idea for date night (that’s what I did) or even for a girls night out.
If you’re based in Sandton then you have to check out The Hoods. It’s a food truck stop that’s open every Friday located on Fredman Drive. They have all kinds of food trucks serving everything from churros, mexican food, desserts, pizza.. It’s a great vibe if you need a different kind of lunch break from the office (which we all often do).
Hair & Beauty
Since I wear inches now (flips hair, lol) I recently bought a very convenient straightener. It’s a comb and straightener in one which is great for when you need to quickly need to dash out. It’s also nice and small so it reaches close to your parting for when you’re trying to get rid of that bump around that part.
If you’re looking for a great highlighter at a good price then this is for you. It’s a powder highlighter so you can apply it with your fingers or a brush. And it stays on all night. I got it in the color 20 WATT and it retails for R149.00 at Dischem.
Yardley Stayfast Lipstick
I’m seriously obsessed with this range of lipsticks. When I’m off to work I don’t like to have on a bold color because it washes off and you have that dreaded lip line of leftover lipstick. What I love about this range however is not necessarily its staying power but it’s variety of nudes which have become my everyday staple lipsticks. I own about 5 lippies from the range but my everyday colors are the Vintage Rose (nude with a pink undertone), Blush (nude with a purplish-grey-brown undertone, lol) and Mocha (nude with a brown undertone).
So I haven’t actually tried this one but I was very intrigued. Beauty on Tapp is an online store which sells local products a lot of which are for ethnic skin and hair. It’s all about connecting local, small businesses with consumers and I’m very big on supporting local. They also have a database of service providers so not only are you getting the ability to shop local brands online, you can also locate services like hair stylists. They have a mobile app, I’m definitely going to give them a try on their website. I can’t wait to give you feedback on all the goodies I try out.
I found out about this online store after blogger Brett Robson did a mini haul instastory on them about a month ago. I decided to check them out and to my luck I found they were having a hectic sale (and I mean really hectic) so I tried them out. They are an online clothing and accessory store based in Durban that sells REALLY affordable stuff.
I ended up getting about 4 different hats and 2 sling bags all for less than R400 rand.
I really hope you enjoyed this month’s round-up.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these and what your thoughts are.
