How to transition into the colder seasons: Layering

The Office Edit- Layering

Hey guys, I hope you all had an awesome long weekend. I spent mine with my family at home which is always refreshing :).

The weather is driving me CRAZY not to mention my hay fever is also acting up because of the season change.

Even though I know it’s coming I still have a hard time with the cold. I struggle even more when it’s hot in the afternoon and cold in the evenings.

Anyway seeing as it’s autumn, I thought I’d talk about transitioning you summer work wardrobe to winter to ease you into the new season.

The trick is layering. Layers. Layers. And more layers.

Here are the basic steps to layering:

1. Start with a basic like a tank top or vest.
2. For your second layer, add something that would normally be worn on its own like a white or denim shirt, a buttoned down blouse etc.
3. The last layer would be outer wear- coats, blazers, jackets etc.

Remember, the point is to wear something that would normally be worn as outer wear or on its own inside another piece of clothing and to expose all pieces (there’s no point in wearing layers if you can’t see them unless the intention is warmth 🙂 ).

Accessories like scarves add to layering so don’t be scared to pile them on. I kid. Don’t over do it, not only will you be uncomfortable you’ll look like a hot mess!

Be creative with accessories, like how I used my scarf as a belt in this post.
